Mike Pinto Releases a David Foral Remix to “Crooks”

On June 27th, 2017, singer, songwriter & storyteller Mike Pinto released his first album in 4 years with a 10-track release titled Hotel Rendezvous. The album has flown under the radar as a low-key release while also being considered Mike’s best work to date. Since then, Mike has tapped Dirty Heads bassist David Foral for a dub-remix of the albums 2nd song, “Crooks.” (more…)

Video: Pepper – “Around” (Live Acoustic)

Our good friends at Sugar Shack recorded a live-acoustic version of “Around” with the Pepper guys. The song is the last track off their last studio album Ohana. The album was released April 2016 and just recently the group put out a new single, “Good Thing Going” featuring Slightly Stoopid — You can read more on that update by clicking HERE! The are rumored plans for a new album to drop in 2018 as we hope to bring you some details with our 2018 Most Anticipated Albums feature to come January 2nd. Toronto’s Jungle Man Sam Releases New Single

Rebelution’s Kyle Ahern Debuts Solo Effort ‘Taking Off’

Atlantic City’s Kyle Ahern has had a jam-packed couple of years. Known originally for the strong delivery of performing various covers, Sensamotion and most recently for his contributions as a guitarist for Rebelution, Ahern has officially released his own solo record under the name TICO –- an eight-track effort entitled Taking Off that will serve as a delight to the ears of those who listen. MP3 Leak of the Week: The Ries Brothers

Our own Brian Glaser would not stop raving about this young duo of brothers who perform music as The Ries Brothers. They just released their first full-length record, The View From The Outside, which was, in part, produced by Ted Bowne of Passafire. Common Kings Drop New Single Amid Grammy Nomination

Southern, CA’s Common Kings is currently on a tour with Matisyahu where they released a collaborative single aptly titled after their tour with “Broken Crowns.” Now, they just received exciting news that their debut album Lost In Paradise would be 1 of 5 albums nominated by The Grammy’s for Best Reggae Album. Video: J Boog – “Good Cry” (ft. Chaka Demus)

For the second year in a row, J Boog has received a Grammy Nomination for Best Reggae Album with his 11/18/2016 release of Wash House Ting. The album is 14 tracks and includes guest appearances by Gramps Morgan, Buju Banton, Fiji, Chaka Demus and more. Here is the music video for “Good Cry” that was also on J Boog’s Rose Petals EP that was also up for Best Reggae Album last year. Following the July 2015 release of Sublime with Rome‘s sophomore album, Sirens, Rome Ramirez told us in an interview that former Sublime drummer & DJ, Marshall ‘Ras MG’ Goodman, did a remix of his song “Gasoline.” When we noticed that the remix was never released, we reached out to SwR’s management who was gracious enough to allow us to give the track away for FREE! New Zealand’s Tunes of I Release New EP ‘Wicked Ways’

Tunes of I, a psychedelic dub rock 7-piece out of Wellington, NZ, dropped their new EP Wicked Ways on November 17th, 2017. Ahead of the upcoming release, Tunes of I have put out two killer singles “Kiss the Sky” and “Running” as a preview of what’s to come. Video: Save Ferris – New Sound (ft. Neville Staple)

On February 10th, 2017, Save Ferris released a 5 track EP titled Checkered Past that was their first release since 1999. The ska group, lead by Monique Powell, has continued to tour pushing their new EP as they just announced that they will be performing with 311 next March (2018) in San Diego, CA. Rob Machado to Host 6th Annual Fundraising Event

Rob Machado is a well known professional surfer, local to San Diego, CA and is putting on his 6th annual music fundraising event at The Belly Up on December 5th in Solana Beach, CA. The lineup this year will include Nahko, Jon Foreman, Lukas Nelson, and Iron Sage Wood & Paul Cannon. The fundraiser is in an effort to go Green as Rob Machado continues his efforts in the community with the school districts and California beaches. (more…)
